Who, What, Where
I’m Jim Baker, the owner and chief photographer/artist of my small but growing company. While “Show Car Photos” itself was formed in 2002, I have been a professional photographer and artist for over 26 years. I began as a Navy Photographer’s Mate and later received a degree in Creative Photography from the University of Florida. I’ve worked as a manager at both Kodak and Fuji. Working at large companies may be secure and prestigious, but I found they lacked the one-on-one relationships with customers I needed as a creative artist. That’s why I formed “Show Car Photos”.

Why, How, When
It all began in June 2001 when Tony Landini of Sport Chevrolet in Silver Spring Md. asked me to photograph cars at his “Chevy Show”. Since I had most of the equipment to create digital prints “on-the-spot”, I decided to give it a try. I hired Hae Lee, a superb graphic artist, to help me. Well, let me tell you, that first shoot was nothing short of controlled chaos! But we pulled it off, completed all the photos, and satisfied all the customers. We also began our ever-growing expertise in on-site production. We continue to sharpen our skills and find new and better ways to serve our customers; Show Vehicle enthusiasts. I say “Show Vehicle” because we don’t just shoot cars anymore. We have photographed virtually every type of motorized vehicle; Motorcycles, Dragsters, Pick-ups, Tractor/trailers, Boats, and everything in between!

And growing...
Our product line has changed also. First, we added the PhotoStats® poster, a showboard that lists a vehicle’s statistics and a high quality photo, for display at shows. We knew we could produce a better product than was currently available. I purchased the highest quality photo printer available and hired the finest graphic artists. Combined with our professional photography, we began producing stunning show posters. Compare our PhotoStats® poster to the others on the market and you will agree ours are unique, creative, and of noticeably higher quality.

And growing!
Due to customer demand we added the wall poster, a unique and personalized poster of your vehicle ready for framing or just pinning to the wall. They come in two sizes, 20x30 and 24x36. Both sizes are standard, for easy framing.

We also now offer an artistic rendition of your vehicle, created from our photos or yours. Each art piece is hand crafted to render your vehicle in an interesting and unique way by a skilled graphic artist. These painting-like works of art are 11x14, matted and ready for framing in a 16x20 frame.

In cooperation with world-renowned stained glass artist, Rick Michael, we are now the leading distributor of Rick’s sensational pieces. Rick specializes in car and “cars with women” art pieces that we are more than proud to feature along side our own work. Rick’s works are true masterpieces that are destined to increase in value.
